For workstation system users, CTOOL is an interactive image processingtool. It is a window-based tool that displays a HIPS image file in aSunTools window. With it, users can size and move an interactive regionof interest "box." The contents of the box can be passed through anarbitrary HIPS filter, then drawn back into the box (or saved in a file).The system features various painting and erasing features. A "fatbits"window magnifies a region of the image for fine-grained painting anderasing. Various color map manipulation functions are supported, such assweeping and thresholding. All operations are buffered so that they canbe undone.
